I am a National or Regional Leader for a Network group and cannot see it on the Networks page. How can I get listed on Business-Scene? (Networks)Network owners need to let us know that they are out there. Then we can list them. As you can imagine, there are so many networking groups that we couldn't possibly keep up with all of them, so we rely on the Networking group (or one of it's members) letting us know that they want to use our site. Please send your details to us and we will consider them for inclusion.
What types of image can I upload as a Photo or Logo? (Photos and Logos)
You can upload most of the common image formats, for example, jpg, gif, png, jpeg, pgif etc., but please make sure that your image has been properly saved as one of these types. Very often we get users trying to upload files that are not true images, but which have just been 'saved as' one of these types. Please do not try to upload html, pdf or txt files, as these will be rejected.
Can I edit the dimensions of my image before I upload it to Business-Scene? (Photos and Logos)
Yes. This is fairly easy. There are plenty of websites that allow you to upload you own image, edit the image to change the dimensions, filesize, or other effects, and which then deliver a modifed image back to you that you can then upload to Business-Scene. Try Picnik.com or Picresize.com.
Where can I upload my photo? (Photos and Logos)
Each user can upload 1 photo, which is displayed on their profile page and in various other places on the website where there is a contribution by that user.
To upload your photo, log on with your username and password, then go to My Control Panel and follow the links to 'Change My Photo' (It's just below the 'Edit Personal Details' button). Then click the 'Browse' button to locate the image on your computer. When you have located your image, click the 'Upload Photo' button to upload your image.
Is there a maximum file size that I can upload as a Photo or Logo? (Photos and Logos)
Yes. There is a 1mb limit. Any files above this size will be rejected. Large files that are less than this size will be uploaded, but the upload may take some time. Occasionally, you may find that your browser times out during a large upload. If this re-occurs, you should resize the image yourself before attempting the upload again.
How do I add my logo to my profile? (Photos and Logos)
Each user can upload a different logo for each of their business profiles on the website. The logo is then displayed on the business profile page.
To upload your logo, log on with your username and password, then go to My Control Panel and follow the links to 'Change Logo' against the business profile you want to upload. When you have located your image, click the 'Upload Logo' button to upload your image.
How do I assign a Trade Category to my business profile? (Directory)
You need to log in using your username and password. Then, go to the My Control Panel link (top right of page). Then edit your profile and select your Trade Category from the list of drop-down items.
Is it possible to delete one of my business profiles? (Users and Profiles)
Yes. Log in, go to your Control Panel, then select 'Edit' for the profile you want and press the 'Delete Profile' button at the bottom of the form.
My username and password combination is not accepted when I try to log in. What could the problem be? (Username / Password / Log-In Issues)
There could be a number of reasons:
1. You have not entered your correct username - this is the username you chose when creating your account. If you cannot remember your username you can follow the Forgotten? links to be reminded of it
2. You have not entered your correct password - if you cannot remember your password, you can follow the Forgotten? links to get it reset
3. Passwords are case-sensitive, so if your password contains capital letters, these should be entered as capitals when you fill in your password
4. Some browsers auto-fill password fields. Please be careful that your password field has not be auto-filled with an incorrect password. If you think it might have been, then it is best to clear the field before typing your password in
Can I hide or not display my address from those who view my profile? (Users and Profiles)
Whilst we think it is good for people to see your business address on our website, we understand that some people (especially home workers) might not want to show their address on the site. So, to suppress your address, go to My Control Panel, then click Edit Personal Details, and then check the appropriate box on the form to prevent your address from being displayed.
