Most of the network owners we speak to find events such as Network Central 08 to be a positive environment where networks could work together, in the same room, to meet and network with business people.
There is a space on the Web where we can continue this approach to working together between major events and where networks can set out their stall and signpost business people to their events and their news.
Business-Scene is a national online resource for network owners. We provide a space where you can publicise your events (both regular and one off meetings), add articles and press releases and create classified ads. Your members can also do this when you offer them business membership. Although basic membership is free, we offer a Premium Membership level, costing businesses £250+vat per year. This gives profiles even more exposure, and carries additional benefits such as reduced event attendance and exhibiting costs. If you refer members to us who purchase a Premium Membership, we will give you £10 for each one that you refer.
Business Scene is the home of Business Events, nationally. We are able, through our sponsors – including The Microsoft Small Business Community and The Telegraph Business Club - and affiliated sites to give your events visibility far beyond our site. You can also install a piece of code to allow your members to enter a postcode and see the events in the area surrounding that code, allowing them to network wherever they happen to be in the UK.
We will also be running a number of events each year in your region, at which you will be invited to take a display space in return for publicising the event to your members. These events will follow a well-tried, successful format (see Sussex Connections and Preston Connections), with a guest speaker, a prize draw for charity and the opportunity for formal and informal networking.
What do I want from you now? I’d like to agree a way in which we can work together. I have two short-term objectives –
What’s in it for you? I may be able to give you one (or more) free Business memberships for the people who add your events, and ask them to add them to our site, and I want to offer your members a 15 months for 12 month price with your own promotional code. We want, in effect, to give you a membership benefit for your members. Your network details will also be displayed on our site with a logo and supporting information and links to your site.
I understand that you may wish to discuss this approach with me to ensure that it is truly win-win (it is, by the way) and I’d like to arrange a meeting where I can expand on our approach and how it works for you and answer any questions you may have.
We are not here to compete with you. In fact, our success depends on yours.
Please contact me to discuss this opportunity in more detail.
